New member. Question....
I just bought a 1982 5000 turbo. The car is immaculate! Well, except for the
2" hole in the engine due to a connecting rod. (It's an auto and you can
believe I had fun getting the torque converter bolts off.) Anyway, $700 got me
a rebuilt turbo motor (already pulled) and rust free car w/ all the goodies.
I've heard some talk of upgrading older turbos' with a new Bosch bypass valve.
This will help control pressure spikes? Anyone have any specifics on this? As
you may already have guessed, I am not very experienced (yet) and the 99% of
my Audi knowledge has come from a bentley manual. Therefore, any other
pertinent info on this car would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Eli
