	this is my first post to this list, surely the first 
	of many.  i live in san francisco and spend most of 
	the winter racing to tahoe to ski.  i did this last 
	year in my honda civic si - god, i love that little 
	car!  fast, handles like a go-kart; i can never get
	the thing to push, no matter how hard i corner.  and
	it's a great city car, too. but i felt like an abusive
	parent driving it in the snow.

	so i researched new cars.  i cannot afford a new 4x4
	(cherokee and outback sport were my choices) and i 
	have always had a secret love for quattros, so i looked
	into them.  i cannot describe how psyched i am to have
	learned so much about them, and i am especially psyched 
	that there is a huge, vocal, smart, rabid ;) 'net-based
	quattro scene.  already i have sent some personal emails
	looking into buys, asking advice, and have had some great
	response from some really swell people.  so, thanks, 
	already!

	so i am still shoppping.  the impractical side of me 
	wants a coupe, a '91 20v, though the side of me that 
	likes to haul small soundsystems and keyboards around
	wants a wagon.  some of the stuff on karquattro looks
	might appealing, as well as the one on sale in mass
	with the heavily chipped paint on the front.

	anyway, just wanted to say hi, perhapos to preface my
	future posts lookng for newbie advice.  ciao!
