All Coupe transmissions are code 093, and **should** (no promises)
bolt up to any of the three Coupe engines without problems.

You ought to check the transmission variant, which is printed in the
top of the bell housing behind the block. Early cable-actuated Coupes
used the 'QF' version, which later '85-'87 CGTs used the 'ABV' tranny
(hydraulic clutch). There is a third version of the 093 tranny, but
I cannot remember the code and I have no data showing which Coupe
it might have been installed in. I suspect it might be a transition
version between the 1983 cable-actuated tranny and the 1985 hydraulic
tranny, but that is just a guess.
The 'QF' transmissions used the widely-spaced gears, while the 'ABV'
tranny was the close-ratio box. Make sure your '84 has an 'ABV'
tranny if you want the closer ratios.
And I think you meant to say that the 'ABV' fifth appears about equal
to the 'QF' fourth gear, which is true. The 'QF' has an awesome
5th gear that turns something like 2500rpms at 70mph.
