re: MC head removal

Phil's outline is pretty good, a couple points though where the MC and
MB likely differ, mostly self explanatory such as no aux. radiator and
the after-run coolant pump and injector fan aren't in the way. Probably
of most use is that the head can be removed and installed with both the
turbo and the intake manifold installed. This makes it much easier
since one bolt on the turbo-manifold is quite difficult to access. On
mine I removed the fuel lines from the distributor, thought in
retrospect it probably would have been easier to remove the distributor
with the lines attatched. Either way. I'm not sure how many hours it
took me. It started out as replacing a cracked EM, four (4!) broken
studs later (snapped right off with virtually _no_ resistance) required
the head removal. I do know that dealer quote for replacing the EM was
four hours, without head removal. Not an afternoon job.
