Hmm....this stuff is in my 98 Suburban, too.  The "100,000 mile" coolant.  I
cannot answer your questions regarding engine damage but my engine has the same
warnings.  I would tend to believe the engineers.
Mainly because they would have nothing to gain here.  I mean, you don't touch
the stuff for 100,000 miles, so you shouldn't be buying any, so it's not a
profit thing.
