S6 Chip and Boost Upgrade

>1. What is a WOT switch?

'Wide Open Throttle' switch; aka. 'full throttle' - when you've really got
your foot to the floor, the switch tells the computer/ecu that.. well,
you're (trying to be) accelerating hard.

Actually, it clicks on about 2/3 and up throttle. And it doesn't really
click, but.. well, that's not the point.

If it _doesn't_ click, or for some reason the computer doesn't realize
you're trying to get WOT, the computer won't let you have full boost, or
fuel enrichment, or that sort of thing.

It seems like a minor thing, but apparently it causes these low power/low
boost problems people experience.

? An aftermarket chip & spring costs about USD$500, I can't see why they'd
need to put in an entire new ECU & wastegate. (Actually, the chip & spring
combo costs less than ten dollars to make, but they seriously overprice it,
because of the awesome performance gains)

>I am left wondering if chips make any difference whatsoever.

They make an INSANE difference with a turbo car (assuming you do a
wastegate spring - that's the way it's done). It's not hard to get a 50%
performance increase with some Audis, but I don't recall the figures for a
S6 or S4.

Good luck!
