No, but here's something else on the pending subject:
One more story about my NYC trip.

I had an appointment in a certain naval Co located at 170 Broadway. With my poor
knowledge of NYC I naturally was looking for it in the wrong place - W. Broadway
(yes, there are three Broadways and they are not inline - who would have
known?).

Anyway, here I am in-between the 164 and the 180 W. Broadway, but instead of the
naval place there was an auto shop so I pulled in to ask about that naval Co.
Two very friendly guys (in NYC, mind you!) explained me my mistake and gave the
right directions.

I was about to live when spotted a yellow/white wild thing in the shop. It
resembled a Shorty in a certain way, but not quite.
Then I realised that it was a VW Fox 2 door wagon with some radical wheel
flares. I immediately recalled how Mike Zamikhovsky once told me that Sakis
moved his home-made TT 2.8 from the 90q into a rally-prepped Fox. Indeed that
90q was standing in the corner - the EC subscribers might remember that grey/red
90q with a home-made TT 2.8.

But that's not all: Sakis also grafted the quattro drivetrain to that Fox.
Amazing.
In the back gate there was a humongous radiator from some chebby truck. It had
two fans strapped to it. The air entered through the openings in the huge RR
wheel flares and was directed to the radiator via two ducts with the crossection
large enough to run the HVAC sys of a small house.

That car also had a pushbutton in the shift knob, to control the electric
clutch.
Also unusual was the electrical P/S pump - Sakis switched the ignition on and
offered me to turn the wheel. The power assist was there although the engine was
not running.

The guys were very surprised that I knew about this car. Imagine - out of the
blue some lost dude with the PA plates drops by to ask directions to some goofy
naval outfit and all of a sudden goes: -"Hey, I know you, your name is Sakis and
you've built a TT 2.8 at home!" :-)
