plug into as many cars as possible. Given the fact that you know the turbo
and engine characteristics there is no reason that the ECU can't be
programmed to do the same sort of thing. Perhaps the point about the WGFV
is well taken ...
I am wondering if the final design compromises are made on the basis of
erring on the side of robustness. If you had a design where the path for
pressure to open the WG must come through an electromechanical valve you are
opening yourself to catastrophic failure should the valve fail. Similarly,
installing a valve with excessive flow capacity could cause excessive
pressure to be added above the WG, not allowing it to open. I guess the
only way to know for sure is to be sitting in the design review ...
