Snows - New Blizzaks, tires, and quat.
OK. So i cut the apex a tad early, and my right rear wheel catches the
curb. Blowout, bend rim. Sweet. One can't be perfect all the time.
Especially when driving "spiritedly".
Anyway, local tire/wheel guy looking into straightening said wheel.
There's a quarter-sized hole in the sidewall and I need to replace the
tire. The remaining three have about 1/3 tread left. I *hate* to buy
just one, even two tires, since four is what it came with. But I also
need snow (see below). SO- Are there any funky quattro-related
characteristics that come with replacing just two tires in such a
situation?
Which brings my actual point...
I also am about to purchase 4 snows. I've had G&G recommended, and I
plan to use them for Hakka 1's. HOWever, the aforementioned tire/wheel
guy started bending my ear about some new-this-season Blizzak Ice Tire,
model # blah blah "02" (not to be confused with the regular ol'Blizzak
M+S deal). Bad dry road wear, great in snow. Anyone heard anything
about this? $$ is about the same.
Thanks,
Dave
