My guess is that both ladar gun and laser detectors look for some sort of
encoded light. Even ladar gun needs to know it is looking at the light it
has fired, not some light that already exist in the environment.

What most listers want to do is flood the light spectrum in such that the
ladar couldn't even tell because of S/N ratio. SOrt of having the ladar
gun pointed into the sun.
