re: headlamp wiring



Sounds like you had a loose connector.  Arcing can produce spectacular 
voltage spikes, sometimes melting components elsewhere.  Cheapie spade 
connectors currently carry my current.  Audi connectors, boots, etc. are 
in hand but not yet installed 'till my local group gets their 
eurolights.  See Chris Miller's site for Audi eurolight connector part 
numbers, they'll take whatever size wire you assemble them with.  I 
believe my Hella catalog also has H4 connector shells and brass ready to 
assemble, you might check a Hella dealer.  I'd check for you, but I'm on 
the road 'till Friday night.
