You are not. I'm also more than a little amazed by the low effort it takes
to get people on the list (more than a few of whom I really respect for
their knowledge and demeanour) to 'bite'. It seems to have gotten a bit
worse recently, too... I was going to let this pass, but I feel compelled
to chime in here, at the risk of saying what others have said before me or
boring everyone to death.
Hey guys, lighten up, don't take this stuff too personal... It's the 'net,
renowned the world over for its attraction to those with bad manners. Just
ignore what you don't like, and get on with the really important stuff. If
you don't bite, it's no fun for the offenders. Also remember, it's hard to
put subtle nuances and intonation, much less humor, down in cold hard
ASCII. Take this into account before you flame... and should you flame,
keep it private, please.
It's screwing up the good-natured atmosphere of camaraderie the q-list
stands for- which takes away the fun. Please try to keep this list like the
only list I managed to stay subscribed to for years instead of weeks.
As they say- back to our regular scheduled programme...
Tom (just come back from an enjoyable drive in the q)
