Re: 89' 200 Clunking !!!
Check the heat shield between the inner CV and the exhaust pipe, which is a
tight fit on my car....maybe yours.
THese heat shields are thin steel about the size of a coffee cup, about
ten years old, and no one ever looks at them until they rust away, warp, or
get bumped and displaced and rub against something that is turning...like
cardboard hitting the spokes of a kids bike.
Another possibility is a warped/bent brake shield.(minimal because someone
had your wheels off and should have seen a problem):Years ago all my brake
shields corroded and started rubbing wheels or rotors. All 4 of mine went
through that phase a few years ago.
