Dirty contacts behind the display.  BTDT on almost every big-chassis
car with autocheck.

The Archives have a good writeup of the fix. It's about 30 minutes
the first time, gets easier. I think Mike LaRosa has it down to
under 5 with a beer :-)

Replacing the circit boards probably reseated the contacts, which
made it work OK for a while....
