TT Brochure and another convert
While car shopping today (no, not for me, see below), I picked up a new
TT brochure from the dealer As typical for Audi, the brochure is
anything but. It's a cardboard envelope, with a drawing of the TT
sketched on the outside. Big circle shaped cutouts show the full size
picture of the TT filling in the openings from underneath. Kind of
interesting design.
Inside, there is a fold out brouchure, a seperate card for colors, a
seperate card with interior types, and translucent card with the TT
specs. If anyone is interested in the specs, I can scan them and put
them up somewhere on the web.
Oh yes, you will be mine... :) (I'll take mine as a Roadster Q, with
215hp please).
Interesting note: They've got some new colors. A couple are called
"pearl effect", which are "Desert Green P.E," "Aviator gray P.E.", and
"Raven Black P.E". Nice colors.
As for the "convert" portion of this message. I was out car shopping
with a friend from school. His Toyota pickup blew it's engine (at 125K
miles) and he was looking to "upgrade", as he put it. He told me that he
really wanted a Toyota Camry. He impulse agreed to purchase a used Camry
from a dealer in CT (internet), but then I found out before he was to go
pick up the car. Those guys were absolutely crushing him on the used
car.
SO, I basically volunteered to help. We test drove some new Camry's, and
basically got some numbers on leasing. If anyone is interested, you can
now lease a Camry Le slushbox for $2000 down and $259 a month. In a last
ditch effort to show him somthing else, I dragged him over to my former
employer to check out a Passat.
BINGO.. he loved it. I haggled with my former employer for a while and
got him what I think is a good deal on the car. He' s going to put down
$3000 and lease the car for 39 months at $304/month.
BTW, "down" in this post equals "out of pocket", or bottom line expense.
All calculations are on a 8% sales tax rate.
We were discussing chips on the way home :). God I hate car shopping
though.
