Disintegrating leather steering wheel....possible cure

<>

Actually, it's doing fine! Now that I know that little trick I have three
more Audis in the driveway that need attention.....

Finally got back to working on the little read car. Did some more brake
stuff, now need a proportioning valve to get it right. We'll go new this time
since the one off the "backup" car was worse that what I took off!
It's still one fine driving little car. My daughter is doing well learning
to go through the gears. At first she was hesitant because she liked the
"easy" automatic they used in driver's ed. Now she likes to brag about how
SHE (high school soph) can drive a 5 speed, but many h.s. seniors she knows
can't. Amazing how those attitudes change....
We'll change the subframe and bushings before long, probably next month.
That will get the "after-bounce" taken care of. Looking for some shocks,
middle of the road stuff not performance. We'll change those when we do the
subframe.
I guess it's a good thing I bought it for her, 'cause if it were mine I'd be
working on dropping that spare turbo engine in it. And I really don't need to
be doing that much work on one right now -- I'm still sorting stuff out with
the late model engine in the '87 5KQ.
Regards to Barb and little John.

	Later.
