I haven't looked into it (yet), but shouldn't such plugs be available 
from a multitude of sources?  I probably wouldn't find it at the local 
hardware store, but a metric plug doesn't sound very exotic.  As a 
factory maintenance guy and then engineer, I routinely had to search out 
odd parts for heavy machinery, often metric.  If I get a car with these 
weird, owner-proof plugs, I think I'll get a bag of standard type plugs, 
quick.
