RE: Driving Impression 98 Passat V6 Tip.

Does anyone know about refitting the new 99's wheel mounted tiptronic
controls to a 98 tiptronic?

Ok, this is from memory, so don't quote it as gospel, but: in European car
in (I think) the middle of last year, there was an article on a
lowered/tuned A4 with a pesudo-tip transmission (possibly part of a set of
articles on modified A4s?). The shifter etc was as per the stock autobox,
but with two additional buttons on the selector (for going up/down a gear),
and as I recall, the builder said that the wiring needed for all this was
already in place.

So: a) I may be hopelessly wrong on this (b) if not, does anyone with a
better-organized EC collection or a better memory happen to know what/when
it was?
