Well my drain plug came right out on the 86 coupe gt.  When all the oil
drained, I tried to remove the fill bolt.  Well It was very tight and i
stripped the heck out of it.   I had to pump the approx aomount of oil
back in the drain hole through a rubber stopper then quckly pull the
stopper out and put the plug back in.  I finally got the fill bolt out
by having somone weld a 17mm nut to the plug and used a open end.  total
cost was $15 for welding and $4 for the new plug.
With the right tool It is hard to strip the plugs got mine at Checker
for $3  17mm on one side and 3/8 drive on other.

P.S. I pumped 2.5 quarts back into the trainsmission drain bolt,  When I
pulled the fill bolt only a ounce or so drained out
