Question about exhaust heat shroud
Felicitations:
On my 90qs, and presumably most other I5's, there is a sheet metal shroud
over part of the exhaust system. This shroud has an attached duct interface
that is normally connected to the air filter box via a hose. An air
temperature modulation scheme is built into the filter box for regulating
engine intake air temperature to optimize engine efficiency.
On both my 90qs, this shroud is rusted away to the point where its function
would be difficult to discern by the casual observer. My question: how
difficult is it to replace this shroud? What has to be removed to get a new
one in and/or to access the mounting studs/bolts? (Q-Listers located south
of the 35th parallel may refrain from questioning why I would bother.)
