None that I can think of.

The exhaust manifold pretty well _has_ to be on the head when you offer
it up. The nuts are virtually impossible to reach with the head in
place, and probably _are_ impossible to torque properly.

The main reason I don't attach the turbo and downpipe when refitting
to an MB engine is that you can't do it - there isn't room to wriggle
the whole subassembly back in. On the MC engine, there is sufficient
room to do this and, given that you have some lifting facilities and
friends, it's easier.

Otherwise the turbo goes on first, then the downpipe and wastegate.

None at all. Don't understand it.
