Re: Flag debate
I got the new Car&Driver yesterday, it has a comparison between the new WMB 328i and
an A4 2.8q. Good reading, and more relevant to us civilians, for whom the closest thing
to racing we'll ever get is the occasional driving class. HP specs and price are pretty
much dead even. 0-60 times (0-100kph for the metrically inclined) are 1 sec better for
the WMB, attributed to the added weight and drag of the quattro driveline. Also, skidpad
and braking results are slightly better for the WMB. Comment was that Audi stock tires
always suck.
Subjective impressions on the track favor the WMB, but on the street (see civilian comment)
the advantage went slightly to the A4.
The net is they liked both cars, recommending the WMB for those who place a higher priority on
performance, and the Audi for those who value handling, ride, and traction on less than ideal
driving surfaces.
There is also a 3-page writeup on the TT. At 6 seconds 0-60, this is starting to sound interesting!
