UrQ Konis, brakes and headlamps
I just thought that I'd let everyone know that this thread has served its purpose, at least as gar as I'm concerned. I've ordered the Koni's, my cost'll be around USD 600 for the four. Now if I could find out some straight answers for the springs - I'll prolly go with the stock MB (front with A/C) springs unless someone has a good suggestion otherwise.
I've been scrounging the other dealers in the country for old MB UrQ inventory, and got myself a complete set of four discs and new pads for Golf prices, today I found a brand-new turbocharger for the MB at a dealer whose had it in inventry for six years. I think it'll be mine for around USD 400.00 so I don't think I'll skip it.
There are a pair of headlamps for my VIN sequence at another dealer so if the price is right I'll replace complete assemblies as opposed to just lenses. Does anyone remember who the other UrQ headlamp supplier was in addition to Cibie? Hella? Bosch? What, if any difference between the lights by the different manufacturers are there? How much wattage will the housings/reflectors survive? Phil??
I bought the car in the end of May, drove it for two weeks, and now it looks like late November when she'll hit the road again. It's partially my own fault for taking it to the race prep/service guys who I knew would be busy through the summer. I guess I'll be getting a new set of Nokian 1 mit studs for those 8" Ronals before I go pick it up.
