Fwd: 5kcstq screeching distributor

Wallace:

Oh yes it will work like that BTDT the PO of my 87 5KTQ left me a rotor
that looked like that. The corrosion comes a cracked cap that allows
condensation inside the distributor. The all you need to do short trips
that don't allow the heat from the engine to evaporate the water inside the
cap. As far as the screeching goes, check for pieces of the rotor down
inside the distributor mechanism or corrosion on the distributor shaft
$$$$$ (new distributor/you-pick-it distributor time) I would opine that,
after rotor/distibutor is replaced, you will note FAR more spirited
performance from you trusty steed!
