Studded tires
<< Alright, some Qs...

Best thing to do is get the studded ones. Only costs few $ to stud /tire.
You do not like it? Pull the studs out. Now you have normal tires.
Simple as that. Nothing much to loose.>>
MY .02 in tires. Depends on where you live if you want studs or not. Are you
going to be driving on snow about 50% of the year? Typically studs only last
one season. That is if you drive on them during the summer too. The studs wear
down, once they wear down the are almost ineffective, and you might as well
pull them out. A really good snow tire IMHO needs no studs. When I lived in
the mountains of colorado I never used studs! Many don't. I would consider
siping the tires before studs. My VW jetta with regular snows on all fours
outhandled 90% of the sport utes in 4wd. Not to mention I could go virtually
go anywhere a ute went, and many drivers were amazed. Also you don't want to
put studs only on the front of a front wheel drive. It must be on all four.
