Thanks for seat heater bulb tips
Just changed out the bulbs and the new ones work great. I ended up using the
Radio Shack 12V bulbs and dipping them in some red ink from a stamp pad used
with a Chinese chop (well, it's what I had on hand!) They may stay a little
tacky, but the clear plastic housing protects them. The color is a bit
lighter than the other lights in that panel (sort of orange), but I doubt
anyone but me would notice that. Radio Shack has red bulbs but they would
have required enlarging the hole in the housing. Also, my local store only
had two packs and the paint job on the red bulb in one had almost worn off!
Other good suggestions were to use a magic marker (couldn't find one in the
house with ink that sticks to glass) and red nail polish (none on hand --
the wife only had dark pink.) I think the best suggestion was to check a
hobby store for the little lights they sell for electric trains -- they have
red ones which are about $3 apiece, but well worth paying $6 instead of
$110! I'll be checking into that soon.
Thanks for all the help on the recirculation flap and seat heater lights --
been meaning to fix both for a long time. See you again, I'm sure.
