5000cstq Rev hanging up!

I've got a 86 5000 cstq,o my problem is when I accelerate hard the car likes
to hold its RPM where I shift for a second or two. It dosen't drop immediately
once l let off the gas!! What is the problem ? Is it fuel related, like the
injectors or something ?
Any help is appreciated !!!
