How many miles are on the car now, Derek?  You're well over 100K, aren't
you?  This would be an ideal time for a full rebuild IMHO...might as well
replace the main bearings, check the rods, replace the rings, polish the
crank, etc.  I assume you DO want the car to go another 150K + now, don't
you =)?  Or is this an excuse so that when you have to do this again, you'll
HAVE to go the turbo route ;-).
