RE: Your Bosch Connection
Neither are turbos. They have seemed to last a long while despite the fact
that the teeny, tiny center erodes down into the ceramic. I'm surprised
they still fire that well. It must be a compression thing that makes the
difference. Even though compression ratios are lower in turbo engines, is
the "effective" compression in the cylinder higher due to the turbo compared
to a normally aspirated engine? I started using them years ago when they
first came out and haven't had any problems with them. But then again, I
can't afford these fancy turbo cars to know that they won't work. I'll
probably stick with the triples on my '86 4000, and maybe replace the
platinums in the 944 with triples when they wear out.
It's like oil or anything else, everyone has their own preferences and think
that it's the absolute gospel truth. I still use 10W40 even though people
look upon it with disdain.
