Purchase advice - 5000 or early 90 - need help fast (long, but possibly lucrative)

Doing a career change. leaving my house and wife behind in NYC and moving
to warren, vt for full-time ski patrol work and part-time pre-med classes.

The big shiny V8 with the Recaro's and the 5-speed is going into storage
for the forseeable future and I need a "beater" quattro to endure the
winter(s).

Must be cheap so i can keep the V8. I think an 88 or so 5000 non-turbo
quattro or 90 model would do me. Car must have:

quattro, manual shift, ski sack, ABS, clean body and interior and
reasonable miles and need no major work. Must be non-new England non-rust
salt bucket. Must purchase in next two-three weeks.

	HELP!

	1) what do I look for on those models?

	2) Can I use may factory BBS V8 wheels (now mounted with snows) on the
5000 (I know I can't on the 90). They are 15 x 6.5(?) 215/60-15. This
would be a reason for me to go 5000 instead of 90 if this is possible.

	3) What to pay? Budget is tight as the school expensive, pay is low in
vermont. I don't know what 5000s cost as I have never been in the market
and don't have time to do research and am relying on the list.

	4) still haven't found perfect storage option, either in Northern VT or
NYC area. Any leads would be helpful.

	5) Any help would be much appreciated and a lead on a great car at a great
price that results in purchase possibly rewarded with use of a ski condo
and lift tickets for a weekend at new england's best ski resort! (you'd
have to share the condo with me, but I'm a nice guy).

How about that, a list RFI with compensation attached!

	Thanks,
