blow-off valves



What is the general concensus on blow-off valves vs. bypass valves within 
the listers?  What negative implications are there to blow-off valves other 
than the sound (that may even be construed as positive)?  There don't seem 
to be many blow-off valves available that would be easily installed 
afterwards within the limited confines of the underhood area of the UrQ. 
 Would it be best mounted fore or aft of the intercooler?

I'd like to hear from those who have experiences...
