Ok, just went through this with my 4kq first, get a couple of old fan 
relays from the wrecking yard and relay the headlights with battery power.
I used a circuit breaker in-line (2.50) This helped a bit, next go find some 
Wagner Brite Lite Xenon bulbs and put those in... I did a 9004-9007 
conversion at this time. it gave me 10W+ and those bulbs are bright!
Lighting now is acceptable. Not great but great compared to what I started
with.
