I can see this becoming a whole new area of quattro tuning.

I had also started to wonder about cleaning out the _insides_.  The
wind is pretty fierce and blustery at the moment - I though of dropping
a pint or so of degreaser in, closing off the ends with several layers
of aluminium foil (you'd have to use aluminum foil) and hose clips,
and letting the thing swing on a tree for a few hours.
