I'm wondering.

There's a fair amount of oil carried through the inlet system - the
insides of the hoses are always pretty slimy. On the ur-quattro, the
intercooler is the low point of the entire system - it's less than 6"
from the ground. Air is drawn into the turbo with a certain oil
content, is compressed and heated, and perhaps more oil is added from
the turbo bearings. It never has a greater vapour carrying capacity
than at this point. It then proceeds (on the ur-quattro, downhill) into
the IC where it (hopefully) meets cold surfaces - ideal for
condensation.

True - airflow through the IC will always tend to push condensates out
the other end - but what happens if the car then stands for a while?

Especially to the lower channels?

I might just have a look this weekend.
