Re[2]: ZYMOL update (now Meguire's 3-step comment)

Since we are on the subject....I have been using the Meguires one step
cleaner/wax. It is easy to buff on and off, and I think it works well. The
other day, my friend brought over Mother's Carnuba gold. I tried it out, and
for one thing, you can barely see where you have already applied it. Second,
you have to break your arm off to buff out. He said that is because it is more
durable and will last longer. I suggested that his supply was very old and
hardened. The paste in the newer Meguires tin is much softer. They both smell
like you want to eat your car once applied. Does anyone have any experience
with the Mother's? What do you guys think?

For several years I used Meguir's one step cleaner/wax. It is excellent.
Just recently I tried the full 3-step shooting match - cleaner separate,
sealant/glaze, then gold-class wax (each $6-8 a bottle except wax, it was
around $10). A 200q20v lister in Rochester, NY recommended it.

Wow. it's great. if you have the time and desire, it's a magnificent
finish. it takes MUCH longer to put on (cleaner step requires more effort,
about twice as much as a "quick one-step wax"; once that's done other steps
go on quickly but require extra drying time vs. conventional waxes). Total
clean time w/o a break and wash/detail other trim/etc. would be 4-5 hours.

Only did it 3 weeks ago; don't know how long it lasts but I like it.
