Ur Leaks, bulbs, and felt

Thanks for all the advice. Noone came up with the idea of a brick and
insureance claim to reseal the windscreen though.  I now have enough
silicone to fix the Titanic, and have resealed the winscreen all the way
round. However.....

when I lifted the carpet there was a mushy substance, a bit like slime from
the bottom of the ocean. I asume this was once sound felt with a bituman pad
on top. Does any one know if this is an Audi part? All the local auto stores
looked at me as if I were mad when I asked for this. Any UK ideas?

also, to lift the carpets the central console had to come out, so time to
replace all those bulbs - how do the ones in the black holders in the diff
lock panel come out?

on an old thread, the bulbs were 89pence ($1.50) each at Halfords. They are
all white halogen, and green ones dont work due to the red filter....
