Hi all,
I'm new to the list, having just picked up a delightful brilliant yellow
'98 A41.8TQ. It's a bit of a step up from my old Honda CRXsi!
Anyway, I've been looking for snow tires, as the Dunlops it came with are
clearly not designed for the winters up here in Alberta. Although I
haven't made my decision, I'm leaning towards Blizzaks, based on a
friend's good experiences, and a couple of months of asking around and
poking around on the net.
Any suggestions, feedback, recommendations or warnings would be greatly
appreciated!
Thanks,
Brian Hutchison

>From my understanding Blizzaks only give you 1/2 life as far as an ice
and snow tire.
This is because it is made of very soft rubber in order to give superior
traction on ice.
Once the soft rubber is worn down - about 15k miles - you can use the
tire as a regular tire for the rest of its life.
I have used Gislaved snow tires all year round and have gotten 60 k miles
on each of three sets of four tires. They give excellent traction on ice,
snow, wet or dry roads. Volvo uses these tires in Sweden.
Hope this helps.
