Center Support Update; Need a P/N; Alcantara

Hi Audifans,

On the center support, we have removed the bracket from Mercedes P/N 123 410
10 81A. There were 8 weld points on top of the bracket. We drilled these
out, then used a punch in each hole to seperate the bracket from the bearing
housing. Be careful here!! The bearing housing is pretty soft, and will
deform (ask me how I know... :-0 ) As soon as we get a junk driveshaft
(today or tomorrow. Frank Bauer, I didn't have the heart to use your D/S as
the prototype), we'll attempt to remove the orginal center support bracket
from the original center support housing, and weld it to the Mercedes P/N.
We plan on drilling holes in the original bracket, and spot weld to housing,
similar process to the Mercedes bracket. We plan on placing the housing in
icewater to keep the housing cool and not burn the rubber whilst welding.
Since the original Center support uses shims to adjust for height, Mike
doesn't forsee fitment issues, even if the Mercedes housing appears a tad
(3mm) smaller in dia.

Also
I need a P/N. Or if anyone has this part, I am interested in purchasing it.
On Scott Mo.'s page, he shows how to update a 10v I/C to a 1991 200tq 20v
I/C. There is a metal cross piece below the IC (the IC may even sit on it)
that, on the 1991 20vt, has the cut-out for the turbo exit/IC entrance pipe.
This is the P/N I need. I have found a Spearco IC that will fit nicely,
approx. 3.5"x 8"x18", 700 cfm, $500 (how much is a stock 20vt IC?), and the
1991 200tq cross piece would be a nice way to do the addition.

I found Alcantara for $50 a yard. I'm sending a swatch to match for color.
I believe Avi has some samples, so if I see these first I'll call the place
below and see if they have it or maybe we can negotiate with Avi's supplier.

They also have a suede synthetic called Microsan Suede. I will get a swatch
to match for color at the same time as the Alcantara. Price is $20 a yard.
