Thanks, Mark, I'll give that a try. I could get the gun on the fitting, but
the angle wasn't right and grease leaked around the fitting. I may also try
replacing the straight zerk fitting with a 45 degree fitting to see if it
makes it easier to get a gun on there. I'd hate to foul up the delicate
balance on the driveshaft, though :o)
The best setup I ever saw was the U-joints on an old Dodge van I used to
own. The zerk fitting was in one end cap - you just rotated the driveshaft,
popped on the grease gun, and the job was done.
