Help ... anybody got a V8Q Bentley handy to answer a couple of
questions? The black beast started to drip anti-freeze on the garage
floor a yesterday and it has gotten worse. I tightened up the hose
clamp at the bottom of the reservoir tank tonight, without really being
sure that the fluid really leaked from there. Will see in the morning
if the leak has persisted.
My questions are as follows:
1. The electrical sensor attached to the bottom of the reservoir (I
assume it is the level gauge for the "low level coolant" graphic
display) freely rotates and has roughly a 0.125 inch range of motion
into and out of the reservoir. Is this movement normal or has the
sensor come loose? From the dryness of the sensor I don't think the
leak comes from that location.
2. Where is the dadgum thermostat located? In addition to the leak, the
car is running very cold (temp gauge running roughly 1/3 between the 50
and 100 degree C markings). Coincidence? Doesn't seem right.
Thermostat stuck open ?
3. Does the car have a bleed port to remove trapped air at the top of
the coolant circuit or is that not necessary?
Not Necessary.
All responses are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul
