Re: GVW vs. curve weight? (no Audi content)




I believe  "Curb"  (Spelled with a B) :)   weight is the weight of the car
with all fluids in and ready to drive down the road.  Dont know if this
includes Gas or not but includes Oil/Washer Fluid/Coolant etc as opposed
to Dry weight which is the what it weighs with no fluids etc. 
	GVWR is the rated Max weight the car can weigh when fully loaded.
IE: A One ton truck has to have a Payload capacity of over 2,000 lbs to be
considerd one ton.  That is One ton over its Curb weight.  An average
Sport Ute has a payload of around 1,000 lbs I think.  This includes
passengers.  
	So with a 1,000 lb payload, a 4,000 lb Curb Weight  JEep would
have a GVWR or around  5,000 lbs.
	That make sense.  I am 99% sure on most of this but may have a few
errors.
