VW & Audi Spezial 6/98

Apart from the regular mutilated Golfs, Sciroccos and Polos, the new issue
of V&AS has a story about two UrQs from Switzerland, with some really
horrible-looking Balmer 'upgrades'- huge wings on the rear, Testarossa-like
rear wheelarches and huge front spoilers. The Gotti 3-piece wheels are
pretty awful, too- the only mildly interesting part is the grill, which
looks like a factory rally or Sport Quattro piece, with narrow lights. One
of the cars is pearl white, the other royal blue. 285/50 R15 on the rear,
255 on the front.
At least these aren't 'all show, no go'- one has 250 hp, the other 290.

If you've a section on your web site with pictures of mistreated quattros,
I'd be glad to contribute these two.

There's also a story on a hot New Beetle with a VR6, made by tuner Muggianu.

Tom

PS TDI fans- DigiTec has tuned the V6 2.5TDI from 150 to 190 hp, lopping
1.7s off the 0-100 km/h time and putting 18 km/h extra top speed on- 231
km/h is now the max. DM 2299 for the package. Pretty good IMO.

PPS More horrors: tuned A3 1.9TDI with neon lights underneath, and orange
bucket seats. Aaaargh!

I'm not a complete idiot: Some parts are missing.
