The marks are there on the distributor (under the dust cover).This procedure is
only to set up the basic (according to guys at the dealership) timing.
>From there they verify the timing at different RPM using special tools.
If all components are working fine the basic setup should do the trick.
The other check while engine running will just tell you if there are any components
that are not functioning properly.
