Test the alarm on a '93 90CS Quattro.

Hi, guys:
I rolled down my windows and locked the doors/trunk by using my IR 
remote control. Then I unlocked my door by pulling up the stick through 
the windows after 20~30 seconds. The front lights and the rear lights 
were flashing right away but there was no any sound at all. In addition, 
there was no "beep" after I locked the doors. Should I just replace the 
horn? Any suggestion is appreciated.
