we have a 11-speaker BOSE in our benz and when pumped any more than 25% will
start getting REALLY BOOMY!!!! This is okay(I use it lightly) if you want to
cruse down the beach and try to impress some girl(or some 16-year old in a
civic with a foot high wing) but for normal listening it really sucks...
Even our bose at home(Lifestyle 5, $1400) gets super boomy. I have used it
for many school functions(before I got my pro equipment, I'm a DJ) and I
always had to drop the bass to at least -6 or -8.

Hi,

I have the BOSE system in my V8 and I think it sounds like a cheap boom box
from K-Mart for $88. If I could find a system which could interface with
the display on the dash, the BOSE would be out of there. Plus, I find the
difference in volume between two detents on the volume control is large
enough that I have to put up with too quiet or too loud. I have no idea why
so many people think BOSE is the last word in audio since I never heard
anything they make that sounded any good. Boomy bass seems to be the
trademark BOSE sound. I kept the Nakamichi system that I had in a SAAB that
I used to own and that would be a good candidate. I find the bass in the
BOSE especially lousy.
