I put my Golf away for 7 months once when I went out to CA on
a project.
It was in a garage, and the only thing I did was have a friend
drive it to work one day a month. The easiest way to keep a car going
is to run it a bit. Just make sure you run it long enough to get
everything up to temperature, and get the moisture out of the
exhaust system (i.e. not just around the block).
You can put it up on blocks to eliminate tire flatspotting.
