ditto here, going up this weekend, hear that some lifts are turning! 8-)

My solution is to use high-perf all seasons- Michelin pilot XGT-Z4.
Yes, the dry performance isn't quite the same as say, dunlop 8000's,
but it is pretty close.  The grip isn't quite as good, but the Z rating
provides very stiff sidewalls.  And the snow performance is adequate,
when coupled with a quattro at least.  But at $160 ea., it is not
a cheap solution, I've used lesser all-seasons and not been as happy.

Two sets of tires just doesn't work here.  There can be snow in the
mountains Oct-June, while the lowlands are warm and dry, with just
occasional rainy days.

This envious environment makes it difficult for me to complain about
needing to compromise a bit on tires.
