TQW: Rear brake squeak/drag plus other brake questions.
Hi -- I'm getting the dreaded rear brake drag (Squeak, squeak, squeak) on
the 200 wagon. The spring action of the e-brake fitting on caliper seems
pretty good (not frozen/I can move it by hand) -- Of course that's the case,
Osman/Igor's report was so good, I was _actually_ ready for this. I'm
thinking the cable is hung up somewhere. Anyone have any BTDTs before I tear
into it? Should I assume the cable is toast and order another before I start
work? Where does the cable usually hang up?
I'm also looking for good street pads (decent cold stopping, low
dust/noise). Who stocks PBR deluxe? Any other "organics" out there? Any
other recommendations? How about rotors -- I know we've debate the merits of
the Ate Power-discs... anyone using them on a type 44 with good or bad
results?
TIA,
