Well, unless the component knows the YEAR, there's no Y2K problem. (Other
than the normal problems, and we all know the sad litany of those . . . )

Then of course, you could lie to it and reset the year to 1980 - the
problem would arise if the car's computer communicated with one that know
the real date. (I doubt that these cars are in league with one another!) I
would go so far as to characterize Audi electricals as sullen and totally
uncommunicative anyway (unless they are bright and sparkling, which does
happen from time to time).

Saw an 89 Eldorado that had a date and year display - betcha that won't
work on 1-1-2000! But the car should still run just fine.
