Re: Brakes - A8 vs. A4 vs. G60
I have upgraded to G60 calipers and the minisculely smaller associated
rotors. I get almost no brake fade with Porterfield R4 track pads. IMHO,
the urq needs nothing more than the G60 conversion for most of the driver
education stuff we do. Now if your urq is a miracle machine and is hitting
130 mph or more at the end of the straights, maybe bigger = better.
In that case you can upgrade to the A8 rotors at $120 (Carlsen) each and
have mounting brackets made (2bennett) to move the G60 calipers outboard
enought. You will definitely need at least a 16" wheel.
HTH.
I always recommend going to a better brake pad before spending the $$ on
other brake hardware.
